Programme > Experience > 0°00 Navigation New Film Extract for 0°00 Navigation Extract 3: The final extract from 0°00 Navigation follows Simon on the last leg of his journey.  Re-entering into a more rural landscape of open spaces, Simon's relentless Meridian path still presents its share of obstacles and boundaries.  (Approx. 3 minutes)  Extract 2: The second extract from 0°00 Navigation follows Simon through middle England, where his journey takes him through a number of common and not so common spcaes, such as hospital, back gardens and a school playground.   (Approx. 3 minutes)  Extract 1: Artist Simon Faithfull begins his testing journey along the Meridian line on the south coast of the UK at Peacehaven. Swimming through the Channel's choppy waters, Simon faces his first physcial obstacle of vertical white cliffs, before venturing through a series of other compromising situations.   (Approx. 3 minutes)  0°00 Navigation by artist Simon Faithfull, is a film published in extracts online which records Faithfull’s physical journey along the Meridian line. Negotiating all obstacles and individuals encountered as he attempts to cross private property, the M25 and Gunpowder Park, Faithfull’s path will be recorded by a single camera as a slapstick film of one man’s epic journey. 0°00 Navigation, which will unfold over several months, not only explores the historical and imperial politics of the common construct of time, but will inevitably become a survey of all types of spaces that constitute our land. The final completed version of the film will be premiered at Gunpowder Park in March 2009.
