| Proboscis, Social Tapestries, 2006 Collaborators: Giles Lane, Alice Angus and Orlagh Woods, who are supported by a number of Proboscis Associates collaborating in different capacities: Kevin Harris (Local Level), Karen Martin, George Papamarkos, and Sarah Thelwall. Proboscis is a not-for-profit artist-led studio which combines artistic practice with commissioning, curatorial projects, design and consultancy. How can common knowledge be used to produce social change? Proboscis ethos is to work collaboratively and in an interdisciplinary way with associate creative practitioners, curators, critics, technologists, scientists and theorists to explore social, cultural and creative issues. Social Tapestries is a research programme exploring the potential benefits and costs of local knowledge mapping and sharing, what they have termed the public authoring of social knowledge. |
