Haring Woods Studio

Place on Earth

POEproducingteam.jpg

Haring Woods Studio is an international creative and producing team. We are artists, designers, entrepreneurs, political and cultural consultants
working collectively to respond to social, economic and environmental challenges through arts and culture.

Haring Woods is an interdisciplinary practice and we bring our different backgrounds, specialties and commitment to all of our work. We are
commissioned by public/private sector partners for site specific or local public realm projects. We originate and produce new partnership
projects for international research and development, and we devise and produce arts led explorations of contemporary culture.

Central to our methodology is the need to influence and make change in civil society. We ask questions, gather information and speak to the individuals responsible for policy and decision making. The power of artists and the arts in all disciplines is evident in our partnerships
and our projects.

The London based Haring Woods team of Michael WoodsEileen Haring WoodsTony BeckwithAdriana Marques and Steve McLean are supported by internationally acclaimed cultural and politic theorist American Benjamin Baber, and Norwegian UN and environmental specialist Jan-Gustav Strandenaes.

We are committed to raising awareness and fostering transnational and interdependent solutions to global social, economic and environmental challenges through international partners in culture and arts. The range of expertise and partnership support available to Place on Earth is unique. Haring Woods as the core team responsible for the concept and implementation of Place on Earth provides a strong mix of international
creative and strategic experience, political and cultural theory, governance, project and event management, funding, and media co-ordination.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, known as UN Habitat, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. It is the only UN agency which is mandated to work directly with
municipalities. UN Habitat and its Youth & Partners Section will provide direct links to specialists on climate change, NGOs, Youth Advisory Board and youth groups already working with the UN.
