Place on Earth is a creative engagement process developed by Haring Woods Studio to capture the perceptions of people in cities around the world about social, cultural, economic and environment issues. The process has evolved from our many years work in creative public consultation, delivering innovative arts led projects providing influential data to communities, local government and private sector partners.
People’s awareness, understanding and fears about current issues as they affect them in local and global contexts will be used to inform UN delegates and decision and policy makers.

Our positive approach to environmental issues >>
In light of the increasing debate about lack of trust in the science and policy of environmental issues including climate change, chemicals and hazardous wastes, we position our work to combat the subsequent fear and negativism. Our practice has always been to explore public realm issues from a positive and constructive attitude; we look for what’s best in people and places and work to make improvements. In our experience, positive energy generates the answers to questions which support well informed decision making on the part of our elected and appointed civic leaders. Our work shows that solutions which benefit the communities we work with come from trust not fear. With Place on Earth we are engaging head long with the most challenging global problems, not by protest, not by conflict but by helping people communicate their aspirations and ideas for dealing with the impact of global warming and climate change, by adaptation, mitigation and most importantly through creativity.
